Traditional
Red Salsa (Mild)
- 10
to 12 plum tomatoes - chopped
- 1
large white onion - chopped
- 10
cloves of fresh garlic - minced
- 1
4oz can of chopped green chilis - mild
- 3
squirts of lime juice
- 1/4
cup chopped fresh cilantro
Mix
all ingredients together in a medium sauce pan and let
simmer for approximately 2 hours. Refrigerate left overs.
If
you like your salsa with more liquid, then simmer a
little longer. If you don't care for a lot of liquid
in your salsa, then simmer for about 30 minutes or not
at all. Refrigerating the salsa for about an hour will
make the flavors mix and make it so that the salsa is
more chunky.
If
you like your salsa hot, then replace the mild green
chilis with jalapenos and add a little hot sauce.
